Based in Maputo – Mozambique, the role will oversee to assist the Accountant with all accounting, reporting, and compliance activities with support from regional, global and Shared Services Centre teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Ensure compliance with local and global policies and procedures (e.g. BKA, IFRS, Tax, Treasure, Value Flow Catalogue, ICS Guidelines, internal and external audit recommendations, T&E Policies.
Review of monthly tax provisions; Group and statutory tax reporting, Payroll, IRPS.
Submission of quarterly tax submissions and tax forecasts to Group.
Ensure compliance with all local tax laws and manage engagements with tax authorities and tax advisors.
Preparation of monthly cashflow forecast and cash management.
Support tax audits and litigations.
Foreign payments: Intercompany payments and loans.
Obtain the required exchange control approvals.
Assisting in Managing bank all accounts and facilities, forex transactions, and authorize payments.
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Manage fixed assets, conduct annual verifications.
Preparation of all balance sheet reconciliations.
Month end closing activities – TB review (P&L and Balance Sheet recons).
Providing support to business and finance projects,
Preparation of management accounts.

Minimum, B degree in Business or related field.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or Audit.
Knowledge of local statutory compliance requirements.
SAP and Microsoft Excel / Office skills.
Fluent in both oral and written Portuguese and English.
