The candidate for this position will excel at creating and closing new opportunities. By using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers. We are looking for candidates who have prior experience in Rice commodities. Prior Rice Trading experience will be a plus. Someone having industry knowledge and experience from Manufacturing, Food processing, Agro-commodities is a must. This role will be an individual contribution role - reporting to Operations Head.
Sales Professionals for South East Coast of Africa - Mozambique
Key Responsibilities
A. Facilitating sales and appropriate tracking of the same via various channels, achieving Targeted / budgeted sales:
Counter retail and wholesale sales from the warehouse
Sales to stockiest (Van sales). Trip planning in economical and commercial way keeping in mind competitor movements
Sales to major distributors if relations can be established (direct customers)
Sales to major commercial estates via a relation building initiatives, demos and continuous follow up/ quotations. Facilitated partly by Agronomy Team.
Sales by SMS and mobile money platforms
B. Obtaining approval for credit transactions in line with company norms. Understanding the credit risk associated with the particular customers.
C. Periodic visits to the market to build relation with the customers and talk with them about our staff and other issues
D. Ensuring EFD receipts are issued for each sale (cash/credit) at time of goods movement.
E. Ensuring system followed for keeping track of goods movements during sales processes. No goods to leave the premises without knowledge and proper recording of the branch manager
Promotion & Marketing
Arranging seminars in the town center and surrounding villages (providing training, drinks, entertainment and interaction platforms)
Keeping a register of product demos initiated by the agronomists in that area, ensuring the same are followed up periodically, arranging farmer days to showcase results and other demo related activities
Pricing, packaging and quality issues coordination with country manager and coordinator
Assisting in identification of fast moving items and possible new products to be added to the product line.
